About Me

So welcome to my website in it’s full glory. Small introduction, I’m Bobby Anderson, primarily working as a web designer from Glasgow, Scotland. I’m a creative, hard working and out going individual. I currently work full time as a ‘Web & Multimedia’ designer and have held this title since around October 2006.

Despite being into my work in a big way, I do a lot of other design based stuff in my spare time I do not want this blog to be bombarded with my work, I’ll get a separate portfolio updated soon but I want to keep this more about me, my thoughts, my projects, my ambitions so on and so forth. So now on to a bit more about me…

Education…

I attended Williamwood High School between the years of 1997 and 2002, doesn’t seem like that long ago I left but time does fly.

Despite leaving school with unconditional offers for a couple of universities I never really knew what I wanted to be or what I wanted to do with my life at that point; I was never very goal or career driven while at school, was all about taking it one day at a time. I was proactive about it though and decided not to take up the offers I had on the table at that time, I later got into university through the clearing system.

I went to the Glasgow Caledonian University in 2002 to study a University Diploma in Multimedia Visualisation with Product Design, great little 2 year course that I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to get into design. I stayed on at the university to take on a degree in Applied Graphics Design and graduated with a BA (Hons) in the summer of 2006.

Currently…

Right now I’m employed full time as a Web & Multimedia Designer with Arnold Clark.

I have been with the company since October 2006. I was very fortunate to get my foot in the door get my break after initially being hired as a ‘Trainee Web Designer’ and working my way up.

Right now I’m also currently keeping myself busy with amateur football, I play in the Strathclyde Saturday Morning League with Quayside Thistle, bits of freelance work here and there whenever the opportunity strikes and working on my DJing skills which is something I have only started to get into since I’ve been able to afford the equipment really.

Ambitions…

My ambitions as a boy were pretty obvious to anyone who knew me, I wanted to be a professional footballer but I was far too naive and was no where near focussed enough for that to happen. Injury finished off any hopes of that anyway.

Nowadays my ambitions are simple, to be happy. I’d love for a number of things to happen, all within my grasp and all completely realistic in my opinion, things like travelling, being fluent in another language etc. Whats more I’ll probably be blogging about them so keep an eye on it!

All the best, Bobby
