So aye at the tail end of last year I got myself a copy of Ableton Live 7 LE, was mainly with the idea of producing rather than DJing but I’ve seen a lot of people using this for mixing as well as a production tool so thought fuck it, I’ll give it a go. Here is my first attempt at it, an 8 track 34 minute long set.

So during this time of economic crisis I whipped my credit card out, thought to myself fuck it, and added £450 of DJ equipment to my growing collection, loving the gadgets!

So what did I buy? I’ll tell you, for starters I got an extension for my deck stand so that I can add CDJs or a combination of a CDJ and an effects module. Personally I’m going the combo route and I also bought one half of that combo.

I’ve bought a Korg Kaoss Pad 3, or KP3 for short, tremendous piece of kit, can’t wait to hook that up and get the old flanger into action! Last but not least I got a pair of Stanton Diablo stylus and carts for the decks. Job done!

Tonight I will be making my way through to the Edinburgh Festival to see Deadmau5 (http://www.deadmau5.com). I’ve been a big fan of his since I first heard his song ‘Not Exactly’ on a mash up mix at the beginning of this year.

Really looking forward to it, going to take a camera to document the evening’s events.

I’ve hit triple figures on the ol’ vinyl collection, I have 100 in my possession right now and I’m awaiting the delivery of 2 rare numbers from ebay any day now!
